Brainwave Learning Center
Our Wellness Audio albums rely on the proven power of brainwave entrainment in order to help your mind provide healing, health and happiness to both mind and body. To understand how these albums work, you need to understand a little bit about brainwave entrainment.
What are Brainwaves?
Billions of tiny little brain cells, known as neurons, are the building blocks that make up your mind. Neurons communicate with one another using electricity. When many neurons join forces to send out a signal, it creates a tremendous amount of electrical activity in your brain. It's that electrical activity that's measured with an EEG, for example. That activity is known as a "brain wave," because that electricity is produced in a wave pattern.
Why Are Brainwaves Important?
When you're engaged in different activities, your brainwaves will vary. Those electrical signals coming from your neurons are significantly different when you're asleep, for example, than they are when you're awake. Research that involves measuring brainwaves has, over the past few decades, been able to show researchers what kinds of brainwaves go with what kinds of activity.
Accordingly, those brainwave patterns also indicate specific things about a person's health and their frame of mind. People that have a large amount of high Beta brainwaves tend to experience symptoms of anxiety. People that have a large amount of Alpha brainwaves tend to experience problems with focus, or even have ADHD.
Researchers have also discovered that, if you adjust a person's brainwaves, you can cause their mind to make adjustments to their own health and frame of mind. This is known as "brainwave entrainment."
What Is Brainwave Entrainment?
In the most basic sense, brainwave entrainment is the way in which the brain responds to certain types of stimulation. When the brain is stimulated, whether it's visually or audibly, it will produce specific electrical responses. Those responses are known as a Cortical Evoked Response. That signal bounces around your brain, and your brain translates those electrical signals into the things that you see and hear.
If the brain is stimulated in a rhythmic way, the brain's electrical signals will imitate that rhythm. A rhythm that's at the appropriate speed and constancy can actually resemble the brain's natural brainwave pattern. The brain, then, synchronizes itself to that rhythmic stimulus. This is a phenomenon known as FFR.
Using FFR, our Wellness Audio albums help your brain enter a particular brainwave state. That state can be one that corresponds to relaxation, for example, or one that corresponds to increased mental acuity.
How Do I Use Brainwave Entrainment?
No one can really describe Brainwave entrainment to you, it's just something you need to experience for yourself. It's easy to get started, right now.
All you need to do is pick the Wellness Audio album that's right for you. If you're having trouble picking between our many albums, we even have a Buying Guide to get you started on the right path.
